Municipal Deer Hunt Public Input Session

For several months, the Alexandria City Council has discussed the possibility of authorizing a municipal deer hunt within the city limits.  Concerns have been raised about the number of deer in the city limits and damage to property.  Staff has researched how other cities conduct municipal deer hunts.  The links below provide information from some of the cities researched.  The City Council has scheduled a public input session on this issue on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:15 p.m.  The City Council is interested in hearing feedback from the community on the deer herd within the City limits and the possibility of a deer hunt within the city limits.  If you would like to provide written feedback, please send an email with your comments to [email protected].
